Learn Piano

Ms. Julie successfully teaches children and adults alike. Each person is unique, so she designs ongoing programs that best develop students while considering individual goals and interests. Private lessons need to create a bond, so it is crucial to have a caring, experienced teacher (as Ms. Julie is) who listens, communicates, and wants your questions and feedback. Ms. Julie is very thorough, marking the music with counting, fingering, and dynamics, so students know exactly what to do when practicing. Music theory, terms, and tried-and-true practice techniques are learned. Long praised for her ability to magically bring out the character, beauty, fun, and meaning of the music, Ms. Julie has that supreme musical “touch”, and she will help you to develop yours.

Improve Your Voice

There are many reasons for taking voice/singing lessons.  Some people are just curious about their voices and want to explore possibilities, such as singing just for fun, or even — karaoke! Many folks want to improve individually if they sing in a school, community,  or church choir.  Some singers want to get help with the music before an audition or performance with musical theater. Other students are on a professional path, preparing to major in music, or as performers in the area in groups or plays. Ms. Julie has been a choral director, performer, and piano accompanist, so she is skilled in all elements that aid singers.  She is especially tuned to determine a person’s range, pitch accuracy, vocal habits, and she is very helpful with phrasing, diction, and characterization.  Even professional singers need a trained ear to guide them.

Music Mentorship

More than just a piano and voice teacher, Ms. Julie is a true music mentor.  That is, she is someone who can answer questions or solve needs concerning music.  She is always teaching and sharing, and on her Julie Beach Mascia Music Mentor Facebook page, she posts articles, performances, and many things about music.  Often, a great artist or group from yesterday or today is featured, or there may be news about a local, up-and-coming star who has a new gig or recording.  Some people have practical needs where they just want to study music theory, learn how to write a song, or get a copyright on their music.  Ms. Julie is delighted to continue to be in touch with many former students and to learn how music has helped to shape their lives.
